Interlochen Library Begins New Chapter, Completes 5-year $3M Project

Five years and $3 million later, one project is finally opening its doors to the community.

A 10,000 square foot building is home to the new Interlochen Public Library and community center.

The building features a new fireplace, extra sitting and studying space, a fun children’s room and more.

“I don’t think we expected it to be this beautiful and this warm. We knew we were getting a new space but this is something very special. We’re all very excited. I just want to thank everyone. Their generosity made this possible,” says library director Renee Kelchak.

Beyond the library, the building also has a community room, kitchen and conference room available to rent.
