Manistee County Tourism Numbers Continue to Grow
Manistee County tourism is up from last year, part of an encouraging trend for the county.
Last year tourists in Manistee County spent nearly $150 million in the community.
A 4 percent increase from 2016.
It means $5.7 million more dollars entering Manistee County.
Over the past five years Manistee has seen a continued growth in tourism which is up 10 percent from five years ago.
They say the Pure Michigan campaign has a lot to do with it.
“In 2012 we started our Pure Michigan partnership and the numbers have increased 10 percent since they have been sharing them with us. Translates to business growth and community growth which is good for everybody,” says Kathryn Kenny, Manistee County Visitors Bureau executive director.
Manistee County believes they will see even more growth in tourism next year.
