Gerald R. Ford Airport Receives Letter of Resignation from CEO
Wood TV 8 in Grand Rapids is reporting the CEO of Grand Rapids’ Gerald R. Ford Airport is stepping down.
James Gill’s sudden resignation comes after less than two years on the job.
The airport board says it accepted Gill’s resignation during a closed session Friday.
It’s not clear exactly why Gill is leaving.
The airport board has only said it’s for ‘personal reasons.’
Wood TV also spoke with Gill Friday morning.
He told them he’s seeking ‘other opportunities’ though he wouldn’t specify what they were.
In a press release the airport said Gill would immediately take on a consulting role while he pursues those other opportunities.
The board appointed CFO Brian Picardat as the interim CEO while it begins looking for a permanent replacement.
