Man Accused of Attacking MSP Trooper Charged

We have an update on the man who is accused of attacking a Michigan State Police trooper.

Gary Steffen is charged with two counts of attacking the trooper and two counts of carrying a concealed weapon.

Earlier this month, Steffen was caught on camera outside the Houghton Lake MSP post fighting the trooper.

State police say he became upset when he was told he couldn’t smoke inside the building.

State police tried to talk to him outside.

After an argument, troopers say Steffen pushed the office twice.

When he was searched, they found two loaded guns.

Steffen’s will be back in court January.
