The December issue of is out and celebrating all things “holiday” in Northern Michigan.

Editor Emily Tyra says this issue is one of her favorites, covering everything from Ludington’s New Year’s Eve Celebration all the way to the Keewana Peninsula, where monks are making real deal fruit cake.

There is a lumber jack story about how they spent the holidays. Really cool historic piece. We have a Glen Arbor family outing where you can go—imagine the sand dune you hike in the summer, you can sled down that in the wintertime.”

The issue’s cover story is a friend of 9&10 News, ’s Kalin Sheick.

In it, you can read all about how she started the in Petoskey, a business that’s grown more and more in no small thanks to Sheick’s eye for design.

“It’s a story first person told about the farm and what we do here and why we bought it,” she says. “What we wanted to happen, and how we throw some parties with some friends. Make some wreaths, just hang out. I think it’s a good holiday read. Its snowy and it will definitely get you into the spirit. We’re just appreciative of the cover. I mean it’s bizarre to be in print but it’s really awesome.”

Readers may find her T.V. personality shines just as bright in print.
