Drivers Meet Messy Roads Near the Tip of the Mitt and in the Upper Peninsula
Slush, ice and high-winds, on Saturday drivers near the tip of the mitt and in the Upper Peninsula had to deal with it all.
Signs of the early morning snowstorm were left on the roadway forcing drivers to take things slow on their way up north.
The Mackinac Bridge was also under a high-wind warning for most of the day.
It’s now the time of the year where you have to try and give yourself extra time to get where you are going.
“It was a little bit wet past Gaylord, I think, a little bit wet. Other than that, as soon as we turned into Mackinaw [City] the roads were snow covered,” Niki Collis, said.
“It’s just the beginning,” Dennis Collis, laughed.
Road crews have been working through the weekend to salt, sand and clear the roads, but more snow is expected this weekend.
