California Wildfires Put Thousands of Homes In Danger

California firefighters are battling flames threatening thousands of homes.

The fast-moving wildfire, known as the “Camp Fire” tore through Paradise in northern California, forcing tens of thousands of people to leave their homes.

The flames were growing at a rate of about 80 football fields per minute and injured several people, including firefighters.

The Camp Fire is just one of several raging in the state.

In southern California, two other fires charred parts of Ventura County including one called the “Woolsey” fire.

Another called the “Hill” fire.

The state’s acting governor is asking the federal government for help.
