Cadillac & Falmouth Food Drive Kicks off with Salvation Army

With the snow comes the season of giving, and the bell ringers in red for the Salvation Army are a great reminder of that.

But first, the organization is not asking for money with bells, but food for Thanksgiving.

Salvation Army has a food drive starting Friday and going until Saturday at four local stores, three in Cadillac and one in Falmouth.

Captain R.C. Duskin says they are looking or non-perishable food items.

“Anything you can get, and we’re going to be putting together thanksgiving food boxes the next week and getting food out to a number of different families throughout the area.

The Food Drive is from Friday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Save a Lot, Walmart and Family Fare in Cadillac, as well as Ebels General Store in Walmart.

Bell ringing also starts in Cadillac next week, and other areas start as soon as Friday.

Duskin says they are always looking for more bell ringers, which you can register for at registertoring.com.
