NMC Collecting Canned Food for Local Pantries

Northwestern Michigan College wants to fill up the local food pantries.

Their goal is to fill an entire 18-wheeler with food.

They’re collecting canned goods from now until November 19th.

Sunday, students fundraised at Tom’s Food Market.

Collection bins are also available at multiple locations across NMC campus.

Business students are leading the charge on the project to fill a need in the community.

“We’re hosting the Food for Thought food drive to fill up some local student based food pantries. We’re focused on feeding the students in our community this year. We’re expecting a 20 percent increase in the demand for food pantries this year, and we want to help out in any way we can,” said Christopher Brutzman, an NMC student.

Tom’s on 14th street will have a collection bin until November 19th.
