Lt. Gov. Calley Issues Order to Create ‘Michigan Team to End Drug Addiction’

Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley issued an executive directive Thursday to create a multi-agency team to help with the fight against the opioid epidemic in Michigan.

The ‘Michigan Team to End Drug Addiction’ will be housed in the Office of Performance and Transformation.

Calley is calling on multiple state departments to participate, along with federal and local governments.

The team will be tasked with researching and developing ways to address the opioid epidemic.

It will also create an action plan to implement those ideas.

The announcement comes just two days after the state launched a website for people in Michigan to find information and resources to combat the opioid crisis.
