Competition Heats Up in Chili Cook Off at Traverse Area District Library

Plenty was cooking at the Traverse Area District Library as part of the second annual Chili Cook Off.

The event was free to the public.

There were more than 12 different kinds of chili for everyone to taste.

The official score testers included several local firefighters, along with some child volunteers.

We talked to one of the librarians about what makes the cook off so exciting.

“Just meeting the people, all the different people who come in, and tasting all the different kinds of chili,” said Betsy Myers, a librarian at Traverse Area District Library. “There’s not one that is alike whatsoever.”

If you would like to participate in next year’s cook off, be sure to register early!
