Tug Now Free After Running Aground in St. Marys River

The Wilfred Cohen tug barge is now free after strong winds caused it to run aground Friday morning in the St. Marys River.

The tug was pushing the PML 9,000 barge when it ran aground at 9 a.m.

The Coast Guard says strong winds pushed it into shallow water.

Another tug worked to push it back into deeper waters, freeing it Friday afternoon.

The Wilfred Cohen is now at Purvis Marine in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

There are no reports of damage or injuries.
