Woman Who Stole Thousands from Traverse City Business to Learn Punishment

A woman is waiting to learn her punishment Thursday morning after stealing tens of thousands of dollars a from a Traverse City business.

Carolyn Switala worked as the office manager at Maxbauer’s Meat Market for about two years.

The business owners noticed she was falsifying gift card transactions, according to court documents.

Switala admitted to embezzlement of $20,000 or more.

Her other charges were dismissed.

She will be sentenced next month.
