Students Across Northern Michigan Meet Meteorologist Haleigh Vaughn

I’ve had the exciting opportunity to visit many classrooms across Northern Michigan the past few weeks!

I visited McBain Schools, Ella White Elementary in Alpena, Mesick Schools, Surline Elementary in West Branch, Clare Schools, Marion Schools, and Kennedy Elementary in Manistee.

The classes ranged from kindergarten to 8th grade, and each of the visits were so much fun!

With the younger students, we read “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs” and discussed what weather meant to them.

With the older kids, we talked about the weather instruments I use every day as a meteorologist, what makes Michigan different, and how to create a forecast.

Of course, there was always time at the end for questions.

Each of the students were so incredibly smart, and it was a treat for me to meet them.

My favorite question to ask each of the classes was, “What is your favorite season?”

To my disbelief, every single classroom that I visited voted for Winter the most!
