Hurricane Michael Tears Through Florida; 2 People Reported Dead

Deadly Hurricane Michael downgraded to a tropical storm overnight on Wednesday.

As it moves through Georgia, it is still packing tree-snapping winds.

Michael was just shy of a category 5 hurricane as it barreled through Florida’s panhandle.

It’s the strongest storm to hit the U.S. in more than 25 years.

The force of 155 mph winds tore off the roofs and walls of buildings.

The storm surge brought 14 ft. of water onto the shores of Florida’s panhandle and drenched the region with about a foot of rain.

At least two people were killed during the monster storm.

Hundreds of thousands of people are without power and it could take weeks for it to come back on.

One early estimate put the initial cost of the storm damage at more than $10 billion.

President Trump says he will visit the area by next week.
