North Ludington Breakwater Closes Due to Dangerous Conditions

On the lakeshore wind forced the Ludington Breakwall to close to the public.

The Ludington Police Department says the north breakwater is closed because of these dangerous winds and waves.

Chief Barnett says in conditions like these, common sense is a must if you’re by the shore.

“It’s really coming about, everybody just use good common sense. Whether it’s the middle of the summer and you know it’s a nice sunny day and waves or a day like today where it’s cold and people are not going to be in the water. But then I want to go on fish on the breakwater so we have to take some preventative steps to make sure that they’re not put into danger,” Barnett said.

They say it will remain closed until conditions clear up.
