NY State Department Investigating Trump Family Finances After Reports of Tax Schemes

President Trump’s finances are being investigated by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.

It comes after a New York Times report claiming he was involved in several tax schemes, including fraud in the 1990’s.

The New York Times is reporting that Donald Trump’s father gave him millions of dollars in ways designed to avoid paying taxes.

President Trump refused to release his income tax returns during the 2016 presidential campaign.

He claimed it was because he was under audit.

The statute of limitations for criminal charges has passed, however, civil fines would still be possible.

White House spokeswomen Sarah Sanders said, “it’s sad to witness this misleading attack against the Trump family by the failing New York Times.”
