Catholic Dioceses Across MI Turn Over Documents in Sexual Abuse Investigation

Catholic dioceses across the state had to turn over documents to investigators Wednesday.

This comes after Attorney General Bill Schuette opened up an investigation into sexual abuse by priests.

A Pennsylvania grand jury said more than 1,000 children have been molested since the 1940s.

The Saginaw Diocese says investigators were there throughout the day.

Rev. Robert DeLand from the Saginaw area recently took back his no contest plea to criminal sexual conduct after a judge disagreed with a one year jail sentence. DeLand is now headed to trial.

The Detroit Archdiocese says it cooperated fully in the investigation.
