Fustini’s Helps Raise More than $27K to Food Rescue
A Northern Michigan nonprofit will be able to feed more families thanks to a major donation from a local business.
Fustini’s Oils and Vinegars in Traverse City collected $1 from every bottle sold from June until the end of September.
Last week they donated that money to the Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan, a total of more than $27,000.
“It culminated in $27,503 being raised which will help us pick up over 100,000 lbs. of food,” said Food Rescue manager Taylor Moore.
“What they do in our community is huge. There’s such a need for this in particular for healthy food to go to food insecure people, so we’re super happy to be a part of it. They do a great job and hopefully, this will help them continue to do a great job,” said Fustini’s manager Liz Lancashire.
The money will help food rescue continue to pick up and deliver more than 6,500 lbs. of food to local food pantries every day.
