Big Rigs Roll Into St. Ignace for Richard Crane Truck Show
“It’s a beautiful town… good people!”
Dozens of big rigs took over St. Ignace this weekend for the annual truck show.
The Richard Crane Truck Show is in its 23rd year.
It all started when Crane, a truck driver, died from lung cancer in 1996.
The three-day event just ended, but plans are already in the making for next year’s show.
Trucking companies from all over display their best at Little Bear East, as well as throughout much of downtown.
While it’s a fun time for visitors, the companies that participate say they have their fun as well.
“It’s a camaraderie,” said John Schoonveld, who came to the truck show for his 15th year. “We come up and see the same people every year and I don’t see them again until next year, so it’s really neat!”
The truck show wrapped up Sunday morning with the awards ceremony.
