Veterans Affairs Department Potentially Coming to Mason County

Mason County is working to get a Veterans Affairs Department.

After unanimously voting “yes” for the approval, they’re waiting on a grant approval.

The board of commissioners in Mason County all agreed this was needed for the area.

They want to give something back to the veterans and give them the thank you they’ve always deserved by opening this department.

“We have a lot of veterans in this county and this will guarantee a minimum of 20 hours a week of a veterans officer working on veterans’ affairs plus it will cut down our travel time for the people in this county,” Wally Taranko, Mason County Commissioner.

The county is now just awaiting approval on their grant to open the Veterans Affairs Department.
