Hurricane Florence: Massive Storm Surging High Winds, Flooding As Landfall Approaches

While the storm has been downgraded to a category 1, it’s still expected to cause devastating damage.

Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina are expecting massive storm surges and severe flooding.

Already, more than 100,000 people are without power in North Carolina alone.

Storm surges are tearing down walls of homes and busting through garage doors, built to allow that water to drain quickly.

As Florence just begins to tear through the coast, those who decided to ride out the storm are already concerned about the clean-up to follow.

The biggest concern for these coastal communities continues to be catastrophic flash flooding with storm surges and up to 30 inches of rain expected.
