Harrison High School to Honor Veterans at Football Game

The first ever Harrison Veterans Football Game kicks off Friday night at Harrison High School.

Before the game begins, there will be a ceremony honoring area veterans on the football field.

Members of the color guard will take the field along with a representative of each division of the military from the area.

Gladwin and Harrison’s junior varsity teams will accompany them on the field, along with 60 American flags.

“Friday night lights is about getting that community together, and what better way to say ‘thank you’ as to get everybody involved? It’s going to be an exciting time because people love football, but a more exciting time because we are going to have so many people there to recognize,” said Joe Ashcroft, the Harrison High School Principal.

The ceremony will take place before the game kicks off at 7 p.m.

All veterans get into the game for free.
