Pres. Trump Signs Executive Order to Impose Sanctions for Election Interference

A new executive order was signed by President Donald Trump Wednesday aiming to punish foreign entities for interfering in U.S. elections.

National Security Adviser John Bolton made the announcement.

It lays out automatic sanctions against Russian or other foreign actors if the intelligence community determines there were attempts to meddle with U.S. votes.

The executive branch, including President Trump, will have the final say in whether sanctions will be applied in cases of interference.
