Mother, Daughter Facing Prison Time for Embezzling from Elderly Man in Grand Traverse Co.
A mother and daughter accused of embezzling almost $6,000 from an elderly man could face up to five years in prison.
Court documents show Shannon Piechowski was the caretaker for an 80-year-old man, before he moved in to the Pavillions last December.
Her mother, Elizabeth Fischer was his power of attorney until March.
Between January and April of this year, Fischer is accused of writing checks from the victim, two to herself and five to Piechowski.
Charges were also made on his debit card in February.
Both women were charged with embezzlement of a vulnerable adult.
