Indiana State Representative Seriously Injured in Mackinac Co. Motorcycle Crash

A top-ranking Indiana House Republican is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash in Mackinac County.

State Representative Timothy Brown is now in a downstate hospital after he was hit by a SUV while riding his motorcycle.

It happened late Wednesday morning on U.S. 2 near Boulevard Drive in Moran Township outside St. Ignace. That stretch of road was shut down for several hours.

The scene is clear now and the road is opened back up.

State police say Representative Brown was riding his motorcycle eastbound when a SUV being driven by a Northern Michigan man pulled into the roadway and into the path of Brown.

Brown was taken to a hospital in St. Ignace, and then transported downstate, where he remains in critical condition with multiple injuries.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Police say weather and alcohol do not appear to be factors, but they are still investigating the crash.
