Traverse City Hosts Coast Guard Aviation Association Meeting

The Coast Guard Aviation Association has landed in Traverse City.

Traverse City was selected to host the annual conference. Past and present members of the Coast Guard flew in from all around the country.

T.C. was chosen as this year’s location in recognition of all the flights and lives saved by the city’s Coast Guard last summer.

More than 200 Aviation Association members will be in town for an awards ceremony to honor Coast Guard personnel.

Active duty Traverse City Coast Guard members say it’s a wonderful time to hear from past generations.

“Things have changed so much over the years, that it’s really good to get to talk to people who flew aircrafts three generations ago and really laid the foundation for coast guard aviation as we know it today,” said Lieutenant Erin Nolan.

The Aviation Association will be in town until Sunday
