Cherry Capital Airport See Record Breaking Summer Traffic
The Cherry Capital airport had a record summer with more than 80,000 passengers in July alone.
Their numbers are third highest in the state, following Detroit Metro and Gerald R. Ford airport in Grand Rapids.
Cherry Capital’s summer numbers were four percent higher than last year’s.
The airport director says those numbers reflect tourism interest and improvements to the airport.
“We’re very honored that people find that it’s a destination, a reason to come play and vacation, but we’re also seeing that business traveler, that our agri-business and food businesses are really growing and continue to grow,” said Kevin Klein, Cherry Capital’s director.
Cherry Capital says business will start to slow down starting this month and into winter.
