SwingShift and the Stars is up and running for their 11th season in Traverse City.
The season reveal last night started with appetizers and drinks before releasing the eight Northern Michigan non-profits that will be featured this year.
The 2018 season includes the Children’s House, 22-2 None, Arts For All, Zonta, Christ’s Hope, City Opera House, TC Christian, and Michael’s Place.
They’re paired up with businesses to raise money.
Teams will be judged in dance competitions over the next few months, starting September 21st.
One judge is Michigan This Morning’s Adam Bartelmay.
Performances will certainly be entertaining, but even better is helping raise money and awareness for these organizations that deserve it so much.
“It’s so important that we as people are remembering to give back,” said president, Judy Harrison. “SwingShift and the Stars came about and the community embraced it thankfully, and so they’re coming on board and they’re giving back and that’s why it’s happening.”
SwingShift and the Stars has raised more than $3 million for local non-profits since it started in 2008.
