New Event Center, ‘The Lake House’ Breaks Ground in Ludington

A project a year in the making broke ground in Ludington Friday.

The Lake House is a new community event center that the public can use for events like weddings, meetings and parties.

It will be nestled right by the marina on Pere Marquette Lake and by the Badger, offering a gorgeous backdrop that can’t be found anywhere else in west Michigan.

“It’s a beautiful piece of land. They’ve got the car ferry right over here, it’s something that we’ve looked at for a long time, doing something on this land and there’s very few spots in west Michigan that has a venue to allow to see the great views of Lake Michigan,” co-owner of the Lake House, Jeff White said.

“Kind of hard to find wedding reception places, there are a few options in town but nothing that is really on the water and so having the wedding here and the reception is just going to be really awesome,” future bride, Kate Nordlund said.

The Lake House will be built this winter and should be ready for events by next summer.
