Horses Competing in ‘Rein in Cancer’ Event to Support Local Couple
A Northern Michigan husband and wife are both battling cancer.
The equestrian community is stepping up to help them with a horse show.
The event is called Rein in Cancer and its going on Saturday at the Northwestern Michigan Fairground.
It’s all to help Mike and Mandy Depuy who show horses and have cancer.
About 100 horses will be competing, along with a silent auction and t-shirts will be for sale.
“They’re a great asset to the community Mandy’s been the head person of the 4H program in Grand Traverse County and you can’t be around these guys without having them laugh or smile all the time. It’s a great thing and I think there’s gonna be many, many people here backing and supporting their family it means a lot to all of us,” Rein in Cancer announcer, Steven Duell said.
Admission is free but they are accepting donations for the family.
