CDC: More Than 2,600 People Died from Overdoses in Michigan in 2017

The CDC says more people in Michigan died from drug overdoses in 2017 than traffic and firearm deaths combined.

The organization says more than 2,600 people died from drug overdoses in Michigan last year.

That’s on top of the CDC saying the report might actually be under-estimating the actual number of drug overdoses by about 8 percent.

That’s because “pending investigation” was still on several death certificates.

Right now there is a bill going through the Michigan Legislature that could help curb the opioid epidemic.

That bill would require some prescriptions to be dispensed in a locking vial.
