G.T. Regional Land Conservancy Trying to Raise $71 Million to Protect More Parcels

The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy is making a push to raise a total of $71 million to protect more parcels of land in Northern Michigan.

The conservancy says they need to take action due to business and residential growth in Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Manistee counties.

They’re hoping to raise the money so they can protect parcels of land along lakes and rivers, as well as wetlands, forests and fruit orchards.

The conservancy has raised $53 million so far.

They hope to raise $18 million more with help from the public.
