Northwestern Michigan College Receives $1 Million Gift From Cowell Family

A $1 million gift will help Northwestern Michigan College prepare more students for careers.

Casey and Dana Cowell made the donation.

The Cowell family has been supporting the college for years and this gift is going to help in several ways.

Not just for students, but the community.

NMC says the money is especially going to help strengthen our region.

They will be able to expand their career training, which would lead to higher paying jobs and a higher skill level.

And attract high paying companies to the area.

“We couldn’t do what we do here at NMC without the generosity of our community,” said executive director of the NMC Foundation Rebecca Teahen. “Casey and Dana Cowell are really setting the bar but we’ve got a long history of philanthropic support here at NMC that we’re very grateful for. This gift will effect program development and create more opportunities for more students.”

Casey Cowell says he supports the college because education is at the core of any solution in the community.
