Michigan’s primary election is Tuesday and we’re taking a closer look at several of the issues Northern Michigan voters will decide on.

We’ll start in Mecosta County where they are proposing a renewal of a millage for the Emergency Medical Services Department.

The millage provides them with money to fund their day to day operations.

Someone with a home with a taxable value of $100,000 would pay $47 a year.

A portion is sent to help the fire department in the county.

“The importance of the millage for us is to allow us to function and provide care throughout the county with an increase in personal as well as attending staffing of a fourth ambulance in the county and it allows reduced response time,” Tim Ladd, Director of Mecosta Emergency Medical Services.

Polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

We’ll be bringing you live primary coverage starting at 5 a.m. on Michigan This Morning.
