Riding Through Sleeping Bear Dunes Rural Historic District

The farms of Port Oneida were farmed for more than 100 years and now the remains make up the Port Oneida Rural Historic District.

The 3400 acre property takes you back to the 1800s and 1900s to see what life was like.

They tell us Port Oneida is the largest agricultural community in the nation in public ownership.

Historic Sleeping Bear says they were honored to receive the Community Award from the Michigan Historic Preservation Network for their 20 years of accomplishments in historic preservation in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

For a full list of activities they offer or to sign up for the Port Oneida Run on August 4th, click here.
