Federal Judge Swats Online Distribution of 3D Printed Guns
A federal judge from Seattle has now blocked the online distribution of blueprints to make 3D plastic guns.
These online blueprints for 3D printed AR-15 style rifles have been downloaded more than 2,500 times in the last three days.
The blueprints are for plastic guns that would go completely undetectable and untraceable by a metal detector.
Five years ago, Cody Wilson built the world’s first fully operational plastic handgun.
His Texas-based nonprofit recently settled a lawsuit with the federal government allowing him to publish his blueprints.
However, 8 states and the District of Columbia are now suing to stop Wilson.
A federal judge made the publishing of any online detailing on how to make a 3D gun illegal.
