Women and infants are getting a little more support from the Michigan Executive Branch.

Governor Rick Snyder just declared August breast-feeding month, and the Michigan Breast-Feeding Network is launching a state-wide initiative to help provide consistent help for mothers and babies.

The goal is to encourage more women to breast-feed for longer, promoting healthy babies and closer families.

It’s also the lowest cost way to feed your child.

Activities are planned throughout the state to draw attention to the importance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of mothers and children.
