President Trump is still threatening to shut down the government if he doesn’t see any border security legislation from Congress.

The president spent Monday afternoon with the Italian prime minister discussing trade with the Middle East, illegal immigration and border security.

During a joint news conference, he praised the Italian prime minister for his tough stance on border security.

Then issued a threat to Congress that he wants something done now, not only about the wall but also with legal immigration policies including family-sponsored immigration and the visa lottery program.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell insisted the government would not shut down before the election and says border security funding would likely have to wait.
