Chippewa County Deputies Arrest Couple for Using Fake Business to Steal
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office arrested a couple they say was stealing, using a fake business.
They say Roger Lee Carter and Dana Royal were living out of a stolen RV on Sugar Island.
A police report also ties the pair to the theft of a second motorhome.
That RV was later recovered.
And it was also reported Carter and Royal were using “rvnow.com” as a fake business front.
During the investigation, the sheriff’s office says Carter and Royal fled Chippewa County.
State police found them and arrested them.
Carter is now charged with larceny by conversion, while Royal is in jail on a felony warrant for fraud.
