Poll: Majority of Michigan Voters in Favor of Legalizing Recreational Marijuana

The battle is heating up over recreational marijuana in Michigan, as a proposal to make it legal for people over 21 will be on the ballot this November.

Early signs are pointing to the proposal being passed.

An EPIC-MRA poll from earlier this year shows 61 percent of Michiganders in favor of legalizing and taxing recreational marijuana.

It includes support from nearly three quarters of Democrats and almost half of Republicans.

Democrats hope the proposal brings more people out to the polls.

A Republican spokesperson says the party isn’t worried, because candidates can personally be against recreational marijuana but still honor the result of the proposal.
