Leelanau County Deputies Investigating Possible Drowning

The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office says a man may have drowned in Lake Michigan this morning.

Deputies were called to the 200 block of South Manitou Trail in Leland Township around 7:15 a.m.

They say they found William Malarney from Bloomfield Hills already out of the water.

Deputies say Malarney had already passed away.

Deputies do say he has a history of medical issues and left his home around 5:30 Thursday morning, but they are not sure why.
