Good Samaritan Rescues 4 People From Capsized Boat

The Coast Guard says a good Samaritan rescued four people after a boat capsized in U.P. waters.

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Sault Ste. Marie got a call Wednesday night from the cargo vessel Lee A. Tregurtha saying a boat capsized with four people onboard near Detour Passage.

About five minutes later, a good Samaritan who heard the broadcast picked up all four people on their boat before the Coast Guard arrived.

The boat sank in about 135 feet of water.

The Coast Guard is monitoring the area for pollution.
