Nassar Files for Appeal on Sexual Assault Sentencing

Disgraced gymnastics physician Larry Nassar is trying to lighten his prison sentence due to what he calls, a biased judge.

Nassar is serving a 40-175 year sentence for sexual misconduct along with a 60 year federal sentence for child pornography.

The motions filed Wednesday say Judge Rosemarie Aquilina was biased against Nassar before the trial began and she overstepped her powers, sentencing him to up to 175 years in prison.

Aquilina famously told Nassar she had ‘just signed his death warrant’ and he says an attitude like that lead him to getting attacked shortly after entering prison.

Nassar hopes for Aquilina to be removed from the case and have his sentence lowered, more in-line with his plea bargain which was supposed to be 25-40 years.

Nassar is 54 years old.
