State to Hear Osceola Township’s Appeal Against Nestle Building Booster Pump

In this update, the state will hear Osceola Township’s appeal against Nestle.

It’s a major development in a story we’ve been reporting on for months and put’s Nestle Water’s plans to pump more water there on hold.

Nestle applied to build a booster pump station to draw more water from the White Pine Springs well near Evart.

A circuit court gave Nestle the go head last December.

The next month, Osceola Township appealed that decision.

In April the DEQ granted Nestle the permit.

Monday the state said it will hear the township’s arguments on why the booster pump station should not be allowed.

Osceola Township and Nestle Water will file legal briefs and present oral arguments to the court before it makes a decision.
