Runners Trek 4,000 Miles Across U.S. for Cancer
A team of 21 college students is running thousands of miles from San Francisco to New York—and stopped in Roscommon County along the way.
They are 37 days down, with 12 to go for team New York along the 4k For Cancer trek from San Francisco, California, to the Brooklyn Bridge in New York.
Team New York is made up of 21 college students from 14 states.
They are running between 8 and 16 miles every day totaling 4,000 miles in their incredible journey across state lines.
Each mile has motivation.
They’re raising money for the Ulman Cancer Fund to help young adults battling cancer.
They each had to raise $4,500 to participate, and they’re raising money along the way, too.
Their team captain says they all signed up because cancer has touched their lives in some way.
