Missouri Duck Boat: Coast Guard to Retrieve the Sunken Boat that Killed 17 People
The Coast Guard is expected to pull the duck boat that sank in Missouri, killing 17 people.
The tourist boat with about 30 people on board sank on Table Rock Lake near Branson on Thursday, when stormy weather rolled in.
Nine of the 17 people killed were from the same family.
Divers found the boat’s black box over the weekend and sent the recording device to a lab in Washington D.C. for analysis.
The National Transportation Safety Board wants to know what the captain knew about the forecasted weather and when he knew it.
The Missouri attorney general says the state highway patrol is investigating to see if there was any criminal negligence.
So far no charges have been filed.
