Emmet County Court Building Increases Security Measures

The Emmet County court building has put in some new security measures that begin Monday.

People entering the building will now have to enter through the front entrance on Lake Street and pass through a metal detector.

There will also be two security guards at the entrance for secondary screening.

STT Security Services has been has been contracted to secure the entrances. They are excited to be part of this new initiative.

“Our personnel will be operating the metal screening equipment and then evaluating people as they come through and doing any secondary screening. We applaud Emmet County for making this initiative, putting this system in, contracting these personnel as it will certainly benefit the facility, the patrons and the employees,” vice president and co-owener for STT Security said.

Putting in the secure entrance was approved by commissioners last month.
