Charlevoix County Deputy Accused of Driving Drunk Expected to Take Plea Deal

The Charlevoix County deputy accused of driving with a blood alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit is set to be sentenced Monday.

William Sheets was arrested last month for driving with a BAC higher than .17.

Since then he’s continued to stay on duty.

He has worked at the sheriff’s office since 2005.

The sheriff says he has never had any disciplinary issues and they are doing assessments before deciding a punishment.

Sheets is expected to take a plea deal and be sentenced around 3 p.m. Monday.
