100 artists from across Michigan and the country are in Cadillac showing off what they do during the 50th Annual Cadillac Festival of the Arts.

From jewelry, to paintings, photography and textiles, all sorts of mediums are represented.

Plus there’s food, live music and more.

Taking it all in is Judge Cherie Correll.

“We have a little rulebook we’re going to use to score each artist,” she says. There’s another judge and we compare notes at the end. There is going to be a first, second and third prize in both the craft and fine arts—and then there is an overall grand prize.”

Participating artist Joan Bonner and her husband have been attending the festival for the past 40 years.

And at the show, they are a team.

She paints nature subjects on Michigan driftwood and does oil paintings.

Her husband carves birds and feathers.

“We love coming here, as we get older we’ve elevated a lot of the shows we do, but we’ll always keep this one,” she says.
